HP Laserjet Pro M452 Custom Page Sizes

Post by Kevin-Burton »

I am trying to print an A5 document on my laser printer. There seems to be very limited page sizes to choose from so I created my own A5 Custom size. However, the A5 refuses to Print. Indeed I can print just about any size from A6 to A4 with the exception of A5.

Everytime I try this custom size I get a communications error stating a "Broken Pipe". Now i've spent all morning trying to Break Pipes with other size paper, which I am unable to do. I have just printed a large 60+ page duplex A4 document flawlessly.

In the grand scheme of things my problem doesn't matter as I can simply use the regular cups driver which seems to include a great many different paper sizes.

Is this a known problem?

Hello, a "broken pipe" might indicate that the TurboPrint driver crashes when a paper size with certain dimension has been configured. To investigate the problem, the log file /var/log/turboprint/print.log should be helpful for us.
