MaxInk versus Ink Amount on Epson SC-P700

Post by perkin-warbeck »

The PrintFab Epson P700 driver has two settings which appear to conflict. On the Ink card, the MaxInk slider can be adjusted between 200% and 400%, with 300% as the default. On the Options card, the Ink Amount can be adjusted between -50 and +50, with 0 as the default. Suppose I set the MaxInk slider to 400% and the Ink Amount to -50. Which one "wins?"

The setting "Total Ink Maximum" on the card "Ink Ctrl" is color management specific, it allows to limit the amount of C+M+Y+K ink that can be applied simultaneously. 200% means that e.g. 100% Cyan + 100% Yellow can be printed at the same time. Reducing "MaxInk" will only have a subtle effect.

The recommend setting to make the print lighter or darker is "Intensity" on the card "Main".
