I am using a Canon ix6820 and PrintFAB Pro XL 1.13 for screen printing transparencies. I have black ink in all the cartridges. I cannot get the black to print dark enough. What settings do I need to change to get the black to print really dark? Thank you

Please use the following settings:

If black density is still too low, you can increase the "Screen Ink Saturation" value.

General remarks:

The "Special settings screen printings" are only available in the version PrintFab Pro XL.

For users with a Canon PIXMA iX6820 / iX6850 printer and a regular CMYK + Photo Black ink cartridge set, the following settings are recommended:

If the print is still not dark enough, there are vendors of special ink with better UV blocking and of ink sets that also replace C+M+Y inks by black for better ink coverage. We have a cooperation with the company FilmDirect:

If you want to print solid black but are getting halftone, the following is important:

- Don't set the "Contrast" slider below 100% (instead use the "Brightness" slider to adjust the transfer curve).
- In the application's print dialog, enable "Separations" and select the color that you want to print (available in applications like PhotoShop, CorelDraw, Illustrator, Indesign).

We have the printer set up with all black cartridges. So I assume these settings but use multi black? This really looks like what we did first and it wasn’t even printing, then I managed to get it doing halftone then finally black but not enough ink. I am wondering is it normal for print preview to say greyscale fast and the color mode?

Yes, please use the settings as described by me and select "Multi Black" instead of "Single Black". If problems remain, please write.

It is correct that the "PrintFab PrintJob Preview" window will not show the screen printing options - it shows the current color options selected in the printing preferences, tab "Color".
