The message tells me that the bright cyan ink is low but I do not have a bright cyan ink in the printer. Is this perhaps a misprint and it should be light cyan ink which is now reading 9%.

which printer have you got?

"Bright cyan" and "light cyan" are synonyms, at least within our drivers.

Epson Stylus Photo R300. It does not really matter to me but I believe that bright means shiny as in bright sunlight whereas light means pale or not very strong.
