TurboPrint & PrintFab

Dear Friends,

I have the print server “D-Link DP-301P+ “ with the parallel port printer “Canon BJC-4650” and I use Mandriva 2006.0 as operating system.

I have been trying to configure my printer without succes. Firstly I use the print configuration program “Printdrake” with diferents drivers:

BJC-4400 photo: CUPS + Gutenprint r5.0.0-rc1 (en)
CUPS URI: beh_/1/0/30/socket://PS-B48E0B.lan:9100
That works fine but without colors!

BJC-4400: Ghostscript + gutenprint-ijs.5.0
CUPS URI: beh_/1/0/30/socket://PS-B48E0B.lan:9100
That works fine but without colors!

BJC-4650: Ghostscript + bjc800
CUPS URI: beh_/1/0/30/socket://PS-B48E0B.lan:9100
It doesn't work at all. But it works fine even with colors using the parallel port cable.

Finally I try with the Turboprint Free Edition 1.92-2 without any result! (only works using the parallel port cable).
I have runned “xtpsetup” and I have configured my printer as follows:

BJC-4650: Canon_BJC4650 TurboPrint
CUPS URI: socket://192.168.1.3:9100

Short name: tp0
Config Name: Canon_BJC4650
Connection: Socket
Sever Name: 192.168.1.3 (or PS-B48E0B)
Socket: 9100

And if I try to make a Testpage:

First time:
Processing page 1...

Next times if I cancel and try again:
Processing page 1...
Network host '192.168.1.3 is busy; will retry in 10 seconds
Network host '192.168.1.3 is busy; will retry in 15 seconds
(...)

Can you help me?

Hello,

if you can print to your printserver with gutenprint it should also work with TurboPrint using the same CUPS URI

beh_/1/0/30/socket://PS-B48E0B.lan:9100

or

socket://PS-B48E0B.lan:9100

You can also try

Connection: Network printer
Server: PS-B48E0B.lan
Printer: lp0

Please also look into /var/log/turboprint_cups.log for errors (or post the last section of this file if in doubt).
