Thanks for the reply. As far as I know all the settings in turboprint were unchanged from their values under the Ubuntu 9.04 version of the operating system. The possible exception was that the contrast was set at its minimum value of 50%.

After upgrading to Ubuntu 9.10 from 9.04, photo printouts have incorrect color reditions. The printer is the Canon PIXMA MP970. A printer test page and a printer nozzle check showed no anomalies. The photo printed correctly on the same printer from an apple machine with the Canon driver.

I want to scan a photograph to a file on my PC using TurboPrint on the above printer. However, in searching the menus in the TurboPrint Control window, I could find no scanning procedures. Can I scan and create a file with TurboPrint?

Ok, I tried the process of setting the page size in fspot as 4x6 before initiating the print sequence, and the picture printed fine with a border. The choices available for the paper size are limited in fspot, and there is no provision for chosing, say, "borderless 4x6", at least there was no button ...

I installed TurboPrint 2.11-1_amd64.deb on my machine running Ubuntu 9.04 with the following results.

1. Picture processing now only takes 30 seconds vs. 6 minutes in the previous version of TurboPrint and vs. about 10 seconds for the Windows driver provided by Cannon.
